The rundown.

Oyster Knife Projects is a global arts consultancy firm specializing in promoting and nurturing the careers of artists of color.

In an effort to combine her varied experiences within the art world and beyond, Alexandra Giniger Scotland founded Oyster Knife and serves as Chief Creative Officer of this venture.

Since receiving her Master's degree from Georgetown University, with a concentration in Modern & Contemporary Art Business from Sotheby's Institute of Art (London), Alexandra has held varied positions within the art world, including Studio Manager for Wangechi Mutu, Managing Director at Greene Naftali Gallery, Director at Rachel Uffner Gallery, and Director of Artist Relations at Jack Shainman Gallery. She is currently the Studio Director for contemporary artist, Nina Chanel Abney.

Alexandra has organized the exhibitions, Dare You To Look: Radical Realizations in Portraiture, the inaugural exhibition of Burning in Water Art (Nov. 2015 - Jan. 2016); Do Not Destroy at Baxter St. CCNY (Jan. - Feb. 2017); and at Rachel Uffner Gallery, All That Glitters (Summer 2017) and Factors of Production (March - April 2018). She has served as co-chair of The Brearley School’s Alumnae Arts Committee, produced the Sundance-selected film, The End of Eating Everything, has been a return guest lecturer at New York University, and is an advisor for Amref Health Africa’s Art Ball.
